Cabo San Lucas sits on the bottom of the Baja California peninsula in an area known as the Los Cabos ‘corridor’. Those planning a Los Cabos vacation can get to the area in one of two ways. Driving: You can drive the entire length of the Baja on Highway One, also known as the Transpeninsular Highway. This is approximately 1000 miles (1600 km) from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas. The highway winds its way from coast to coast and some of the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. However, when deciding to go this route to enjoy a Los Cabos vacation, including golf in Cabo, you should plan to take at least a week to enjoy some of the beaches. Driving at night is not a good idea and you should always error on the side of caution. Flying: Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is a state of the art facility located about 7 miles (11km) north of San Jose Del Cabo and about 25 miles (40 km) from Cabo San Lucas. If your Los Cabos vacation is going to be less than a month flying is really the best way to arrive. We can also arrange for car hire or an airport transfer depending on your needs. If your priority is to golf in Cabo many of the accommodations we offer have shuttle services between the golf course and the resort so a car hire is not mandatory although many visitors prefer to have their own car and the road in the Los Cabos corridor is excellent.  Example flight times:New York - 7 hrs Los Angeles - 2.5 hrs Houston - 2.5 hrs Driving distace from Tijuana to Los Cabos - 1000 miles (1600 km) Please remember to travel with a valid passport and give yourself enough time to check luggage and board the plane under tightened security situations! Most importantly, get ready to have the vacation experience of a lifetime in one of the world's most diverse and stunning settings. |
